Surveyor's Office recommending the Board: Adopt and authorize the Chair to sign Resolution 108-2023 for Abandonment of Easement No. 2023-0001 to abandon a strip of land, 50 feet in width, lying 25 feet on each side of an approximate centerline within Parcel 1 of Parcel Map recorded in Book 42 of Parcel Maps, at Page 57, El Dorado County Records, said centerline described on said map as “C/L, Approximate Location of 50’ Turnaround Easement”, identified as Assessor’s Parcel Number (APN) 062-071-083, requested by property owners, Steven Germano, an unmarried man.Said Property is within the community of Georgetown, Supervisorial District 4, located at 5089 Chestnut Court.

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
The strip of land, 50 feet in width, lying 25 feet on each side of an approximate centerline within Parcel 1 of Parcel Map recorded in Book 42 of Parcel Maps, at Page 57, El Dorado County Records, said centerline described on said map as “C/L, Approximate Location of 50’ Turnaround Easement” was offered to the County of El Dorado by Keith Robertson and Marshall C. Brewster on an Owners Certificate recorded on August 6, 1990 by the El Dorado County Recorder in Book 3451 Page 218 (Doc # 1990-0069239) and referenced on Parcel Map Book 42 Page 57. The 50-foot Turnaround Easement was rejected by the El Dorado County Surveyor on October 24, 1990 and the Parcel Map was recorded on October 25, 1990.
A request has been submitted by Steven Germano, an unmarried man, owner of APN 062-071-083, requesting that the County of El Dorado permanently vacate the 50 foot Turnaround Easement located on the southeastern boundary of subject property. Said easement is more particularly described in Exhibit A and depicted on Exhibit B attached.
PG&E, GDPUD, and Comcast have not used said 50-foot Turnaround Easement for the purposes for which it was dedicated and find no present or future need exists for that easement and do not object to its vacation, and to that end, have provided approval letters to the County Surveyor’s Office; and
Adjoining property owners with title interest: Glenn Brown, Joshua and Jessica Daugherty, Fred H. Kawashima Jr. do not object to the abandonment of said 50-foot Turnaround Easement and have all issued letters to that effect.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
The Surveyor’s Office collects a fee for processing the Abandonment of Easement on a time and materials basis. There is no fiscal impact as a result of the approval of this item.

1) Clerk of the Board to obtain the Chair's signature on the one (1) Resolution.
2) Clerk of the Board to record the Resolution at the Recorder’s Office.
3) Clerk of the Board to return a copy of the recorded Resolution for further processing to the Surveyor's Office, Attn: Carter Meyers.
