Body
DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
HPE Networking Central is a powerful, cloud-based networking solution that unifies management of wireless, wired, and wide-area network infrastructure across multiple locations. The software features built-in analytics, intelligent alerts, and actionable insights required to proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and improve network performance. The solution provides enterprise-grade scale and resiliency, delivers advanced security and threat management capabilities, and offers flexible deployment options. A real-time summary of network-wide health is delivered through an intuitive dashboard that can be accessed from anywhere, streamlining network management.
The IT Department is requesting to purchase 22 HPE Networking Central Foundation 5-year licenses per CDW-G quote 1CKLVP7 (Attachment A) for a total license cost of $6,530.70. By purchasing the 5-year licenses, which are portable between devices, IT is able to minimize ongoing costs. The approximate savings over the life of each license is approximately $150, or $3,300 total over the 5-year cycle. These licenses are being procured using OMNIA Partners Agreement 2024056-01 (Attachment B) between CDW-G and the City of Mesa, Arizona as the lead agency. This competitively bid cooperative agreement has been previously approved by County Counsel on requisition 2025-1109 in May 2025.
ALTERNATIVES
The Board could deny this purchase and request IT to purchase higher annual cost one-year or three-year licenses (which don't require Board approval).
