Body

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

Occasionally, private citizens or companies offer small donations of cash, goods, and services in support of various programs within the Parks Division. California law (Gov. Code, 25355) authorizes the Board of Supervisors to delegate authority for accepting donations to county officers or employees. On July 13, 2021, The Board adopted Resolution No. 081-2021 delegating authority to the Chief Administrative Officer or designee to accept individual donations, up to $10,000, with the requirement for a report of all donations of $10,000 or less to be provided to the Board at the end of each fiscal year.

This Board item represents the third annual report of donations received by the Chief Administrative Office, made in support of programs and services provided by the Parks Division. For this reporting period of Fiscal Year (FY) 2023-24 (July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024), donations were received for the support of the Rubicon Trail, El Dorado Trail, and Henningsen Lotus Park programs.

A total of fifteen (15) donations were made for a total of $11,953.41, ranging from $1 to $8,170.41 per donation. Please refer to Attachment A for the detailed annual report.
