DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
The State Budget Act of 2014 allocated $8 million to the Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC) for the Community Recidivism Reduction Grant (Grant) program.
The initial step to take part in the Grant program was to send the BSCC a letter of interest (executed letter 9/16/14 #3, 14-1229 version 1). El Dorado County’s Fiscal Year (FY) 2014-2015 allocation was $50,000.
The State Budget Act of 2015 (FY 15-16) allocates $4 million to the BSCC for the Grant program, of which El Dorado County’s allocation will be $25,000.
A letter from the BSCC with additional background on the Grant program and the Penal Code Section creating the program is attached in addition to a letter notifying Counties of the FY 15-16 funding.
