Body

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

The El Dorado Hills Fireworks & Freedom Concert event is going into its 12th year, and was brought back in 2022 after a 3 year break due to Covid. The event is for our community, region, and other visitors to celebrate Independence Day in a fun and safe way. The largest budget item for the event is safety logistics and is a little over $52,000, which includes the logistics for a safe exit plan, CHP, Sheriff, EDH Fire, and private security. These funds if granted will help to pay for security for the event which includes safety logistics, and all agencies listed above, as safety is the number one goal.  This event brings revenue to El Dorado County as it attracts between 20K-30K attendees. Many travel to the county for the event and spend money on hotels, food, and entertainment. The event also helps local non-profits such as Hands4Hope, Rotary, and 3-Strands. The Non-profits run the Kids Zone, Beer & Wine, and Information Booths, and between the three they have raised over $35,000 for their organizations.
