DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

At the request of the Department of Transportation, Maintenance and Operations Division, the Procurement and Contracts Division issued an invitation to Bid #24-0048 for the purchase of Fleet Tires - automotive, light truck and miscellaneous tires and tire studding services.

 

Sixty-one (61) vendors were notified through PlanetBids, three (3) to local vendors. One (1) qualified response was received from local vendor Sierra Nevada Tire and Wheel of Placerville, CA.

 

ALTERNATIVES

The current contract 5752 for Fleet Tires - automotive, light truck and miscellaneous tires and tire studding services tires is expiring and a new purchase order contract is needed to maintain continuity of Fleet operations and vehicle maintenance.
