Department of Transportation recommending the Board approve the following:
1) Authorize the Purchasing Agent to increase the competitively bid purchase contract 8463 for the purchase of road salt, in the amount of $100,000 for a new total of $190,000 for the remainder of the term ending on February 6, 2027; and
2) Authorize the Purchasing Agent to increase the purchase contract on an "as needed" basis during the awarded period as long as funding is available within the requesting department's budget.
FUNDING: 100% Road Fund.

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
At the request of the Department of Transportation, the Chief Administrative Office, Procurement and Contracts Division, issued Invitation to Bid 24-292-033 for the purchase of road salt. Road salt is used during the winter months in the Tahoe Basin. The bid was awarded to Cinderlite Trucking Corp out of Carson City, Nevada in the amount of $90,000. Due to limited salt availability because of the high water table during the Winter of 2023/2024, prices increased substantially and additional funds should be added to the purchase contract to ensure the not-to-exceed amount can accommodate the two remaining winters on the purchase contract.
