Chief Administrative Office, Procurement and Contracts Division, presenting items of County surplus property and recommending the Board of Supervisors consider the following:
1) Declare forty (40) Carbon Monoxide (CO) Detectors as surplus in accordance with the procedures outlined in the County's Purchasing Ordinance, Chapter 3.12 and Section 3.12.220 thereof; and
2) Authorize the Purchasing Agent to execute an agreement for the donation of the above surplus to El Dorado Hills Fire Department.

DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION
Chief Administrative Office, Procurement and Contracts Division is recommending that the Board declare the listed property as surplus and authorize the purchasing agent to execute a donation agreement with the El Dorado Hills Fire Department.
DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND
The Sheriff's Office has determined that forty (40) Carbon Monoxide (CO) Detectors are not suitable for use in patrol vehicles as originally intended and have been determined to be surplus items by the Sheriff's Office. The Sheriff's Office is requesting we donate the surplus items to the El Dorado Hills Fire Department. The El Dorado Hills Fire Department has a program in which the fire department donates and installs CO detectors to residents in need.
Property determined to be surplus to the needs of the Sheriff's Office is offered to other County departments in accordance with Purchasing Ordinance 3.12.190 - Surplus Pool. The attached list of "surplus property" reflects those items that remain surplus to the needs of the County. The Purchasing Agent will dispose of said property in accordance with the Purchasing Ordinance as noted in Section 3.12.210 and Section 3.12.220 thereof by means of auction, direct sale or donation. The transfer of personal property to community organizations may be made in accordance with Government Code sections 25365 and 25372, and pursuant to a written agreement.
