Information Technologies Department recommending the Board:
1) Waive formal bid requirements in accordance with Procurement Policy C-17, Section 3.4 (4), due to the fact that a competitively bid contract with another public agency is available;
2) Authorize the use of competitively bid National Association of State Procurement Officials (NASPO) Agreement 23026 between Dell Marketing L.P. and the State of Minnesota, with California Department of General Services Participating Addendum 7-23-70-55-01, for the acquisition of Dell VxRail ProSupport for VMware servers; and
3) Approve and authorize the Purchasing Agent to issue a purchase order to reseller Sidepath, Inc., under NASPO Agreement 23026 and California Participating Addendum 7-23-70-55-01 in the amount of $342,056.33 for VxRail ProSupport services through April 30, 2028.

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
In April 2022, the Information Technologies (IT) Department replaced the end-of-life server infrastructure with Dell server hardware, integrated with the VMware operating system. This initial purchase included three years of VxRail maintenance and support. IT has requested a renewal of the VxRail ProSupport package, including mission-critical onsite service with emergency dispatch, ProSupport Plus for software support and maintenance, and technical assistance through Sidepath to support the County's existing Dell server infrastructure.
This support is necessary to protect the County's data and to ensure system resilience and disaster recoverability. Sidepath, as a reseller of VxRail support, is able to provide the necessary server and software support for the County's systems, allowing stability for the network to provide uninterrupted public services to the community. This three year support renewal will provide coverage through April 30, 2028.
Per Policy C-17, the Board of Supervisors approval is required for purchases of goods in the amount greater than $100,000.
