(Bear), to provide maintenance and repair services for traffic signals and associated equipment, with a not-to-exceed amount of $350,000 and a term effective upon execution by both parties and expiring three years thereafter.

Transportation recommends the Board make findings, in accordance with County Ordinance Section 3.13.030, that it is more economical and feasible to engage an independent contractor to perform on-call and emergency maintenance and repair services for traffic signals and associated equipment, as Transportation does not have the trained personnel or equipment necessary to provide such services.
DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
Transportation is responsible for maintaining 51 traffic signals throughout El Dorado County.
Selection Process
At the request of Transportation, the Procurement and Contracts Division of the Chief Administrative Office issued Request for Proposals (RFP) 18-939-009 for traffic signal maintenance and repair services. Three qualified responses were received, with no local vendors represented as there are none in the area who can provide this type of service.
