Title
Research and Planning Ad Hoc Committee (RPAC) recommending the Executive Committee direct the Programs and Services Subcommittee to undertake a strategic planning process to develop goals and objectives for El Dorado County AB 109 services and programming.
Body
Background
At the March 31, 2014 Community Corrections Partnership Executive Committee meeting, the CCP charged the Research and Planning Ad Hoc Committee (RPAC) with beginning the process of developing goals and a long range plan for CCP programming efforts and return recommendations for consideration by the Executive Committee at the June meeting. The RPAC held two meetings to discuss the charge. At the second meeting Patricia Charles-Heathers, PhD, from the Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) provided the group with a presentation on strategic planning and how it has been utilized within HHSA.
Reason for Recommendation
The RPAC reviewed the process undertaken by HHSA, and agreed that a similar effort at a smaller scale would be appropriate for developing goals and objectives for the CCP. It was further agreed that the process should begin at the subcommittee level to create a basic framework for review, discussion, and adoption by the CCP. Therefore, the RPAC is recommending that the Executive Committee direct the Programs and Services Subcommittee to undertake a strategic planning process to develop goals and objectives for El Dorado County AB 109 services and programming.
