DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
On February 22, 2022, the Board approved Legistar Item #22-0262 regarding Agreement for Legal Services #6362 with Albert Ramseyer, J.D. to provide legal counsel and to provide all customary and usual legal services to represent the Assessor in the Safeway Assessment Appeals Board Matters.
The Safeway Assessment Appeals Board Matter is ongoing. Amendment I would extend the Agreement 5 additional months with a new expiration date of June 30, 2023, and increase compensation by $25,000 for an amended not-to-exceed amount of $75,000.
ALTERNATIVES
The Board could not extend the contract; however, this would preclude the Assessor from seeking resolution on the matter.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
There will be no impact to the budgeted Net County Cost as the Assessor will cover the costs of this agreement with salary savings that are available in the current fiscal year.
CLERK OF THE BOARD FOLLOW UP ACTIONS
1) The Clerk of the Board will obtain the Chair’s signature on two (2) originals of the Amendment to the agreement.
2) The Clerk of the Board will forward one (1) fully executed original of the Agreement to the County’s Chief Administrative Office, Procurement and Contracts, for further processing.
