Sheriff's Office recommending the Board authorize the Chair to sign Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) No. 013-S1310 with the Placer County District Attorney's Office effective July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2014, in the amount not to exceed $10,000 per fiscal year for Placer County Sexual Assault Response Team Services.

Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: None. This is expense is included in the Sheriff's Office annual operating budget.
Background: In September 2010, your Board approved a similar MOU with the Placer County District Attorney to provide sexual assault response services to El Dorado County through June 30, 2012.
Reason for Recommendation: Approval of this recommendation will allow Placer County's Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) to provide services to victims of sexual assault in El Dorado County. The services shall be provided by trained Placer County Sexual Assault Forensic Examiners adn will include the collection of forensic evidence.
Action to be taken following Board approval: The Board Chair will sign two copies of the MOU and return one original to the Sheriff's Office Fiscal Division.
