Department of Human Services recommending the Board adopt a resolution authorizing the Chair to sign State Grant Agreement MS-1011-35 in the amount of $291,380 and the accompanying Contractor/Vendor Confidentiality Statement and Contractor Certification Clauses (CCC307), with the California Department of Aging for the provision of the Multipurpose Senior Services Program during the term July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011; and authorizing the Director of the County of El Dorado Area Agency on Aging to execute further documents relating to Agreement MS-1011-35, including amendments thereto, contingent upon approval by County Counsel and Risk Management, that do not affect the dollar amount or the term, and to sign subsequent required fiscal and programmatic reports.

The amount payable by the State to the County of El Dorado (County) under this Agreement is $291,380 with no match requirement, however there is a County General Fund contribution of $24,736 to this program to cover administrative costs that exceed the amount of the grant. This funding is included in the Department's FY 2010-11 Recommended Budget.
Reason for Recommendation:
Agreement MS-1011-35 provides $291,380 in Federal and State funding to provide the Multipurpose Senior Services Program in the County of El Dorado during FY 2010-11. MSSP provides care management, which consists of providing information and assistance regarding appropriate community resources to meet needs, as well as monitor on-going care and health status.
