Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: No change to Net County Cost, as funds for this service is included in the Risk Managment budget for the remainder of FY 08/09. Services to be rendered after June 30, 2009 will be included in the FY 09/10 budget.
Background: Risk Management manages an agreement with the State of California, General Services Department, Office of Administrative Hearings to reside over hearings relating to disability retirement appeals.
Reason for Recommendation: Risk Management brings this matter before your Board per BOS Policy C-17 to make the Board aware of an agreement that was approved by prior Boards. We are requesting authorization to continue this perpetual agreement which will provide the County with neutral fact finding hearings relating to disability retirement appeals.
Action to be taken following Board approval: Risk Management will forward executed agreement to the State for full implementation as well as to Purchasing for encumberance of funds.
