Supervisor Briggs recommending the Board authorize the Chair to sign a letter in support of the "Future Farmers of America Agricultural Leadership Program" proposal, to be submitted by the El Dorado County Resource Conservation District to the Sierra Nevada Conservancy for consideration to receive Proposition 84 Grant Program funding.

The El Dorado County Resource Conservation District has been invited to submit a full proposal for the "Future Farmers of America Agricultural Leadership Program" to the Sierra Nevada Conservancy for funding consideration under the Proposition 84 Grant Program.
The proposed program will enhance the Ponderosa High School Livestock Facilities to be utilized as a Best Management Practices (BMP's) demonstration site for agricultural livestock facilities. The 3-acre site will concentrate on BMP's associated with livestock facilities for cattle, goats, sheep, pigs, poultry and meat rabbits. This community demonstration site will be a one-of-a-kind asset in the County that will serve as physical successes within the community for landowners, as well as county administrators, to learn and experience firsthand the resutls of responsible land care for livestock properties.
