Body

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

On July 22, 2025, the Board of Supervisors provided direction to staff to develop a permit process that allows for case-by-case determination, with input from the Parks and Recreation Commission on closing parks and trails facilities, or portions thereof, and frequency of closing to allow for private special events and filming. The purpose of this discussion was to give the Parks Commission an opportunity to provide input as the process was being developed.

On December 9, 2025, the Parks Commission discussed their approach to providing input on this matter and determined that District 4 representative Torin Dunnavant would take a lead role in working with staff and the commission to develop recommendations that will ultimately be incorporated into a larger cost recovery and fee study project that staff in currently working on.
