Title
Sheriff's Office recommending the Board consider the following:
1) Accept with thanks a donation from the California Emergency Management Agency (Cal EMA) of eight surplus MSR 2000 radios; and
2) Authorize the Sheriff to sign the State's Property Survey Report transferring the radios from the State's inventory to the County's inventory of ham radios.
Body
Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost
There is no fiscal impact and change to Net County Cost as a result of this action.
Background
From time to time, the State (Cal EMA) transfers equipment it no longer needs, or is replacing with newer technology, to counties that express an interest in receiving them.  The Sheriff's Communications Division is interested in these 8 surplus radios to use in its ham radio program.  Cal EMA has determined there is no re-saleable value to these radios, so the County will not be charged for this property transfer.
Reason for Recommendation
Approval of this recommendation will allow the Sheriff's Office to receive 8 surplus MSR 2000 radios for its ham radio program.
Action(s) to be taken following Board approval
Sheriff will sign and return Property Survey Report to Cal EMA accepting its donation.
