Background
On December 13, 2005 the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution 352-2005 increasing the Public Guardian imprest cash fund by $100, from $50 to $150, for emergency purchases for clients.

On August 16, 2005 the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution 250-2005 increasing the Senior Nutrition imprest cash fund by $80, from $160 to $240, to facilitate day-to-day program operations at Senior Nutrition sites in El Dorado County.

Reason for Recommendation
The Agency’s Public Guardian Office often makes emergency purchases for items such as medications and food on the behalf of their vulnerable clients. The Public Guardian Office finds it necessary to increase the current imprest cash fund balance by $150, from $150 to $300 at this time.

The Senior Nutrition Program provides daily lunch to seniors at the seven meal sites located throughout the County. Donations are accepted at each meal site and the increased use of large bills necessitates a larger amount of cash on hand at each site to provide change for participant donations.
