DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
On September 19, 2017 (Legistar file 16-0416), the Board accepted the conditional award authorized under Senate Bill 844 Adult Local Criminal Justice Facilities Construction financing program for the Placerville Rehabilitation and Re-Entry Jail Expansion project.

On October 16, 2018 (Legistar file 18-1632), the Board approved the use of the Design-Build construction project delivery method for the Jail Expansion Project.

On September 12, 2023 (Legistar file 23-1640), the Board approved Agreement 8055 with Roebbelen Contracting, Inc. for the design-build services related to the Jail Expansion.

The project consists of the construction of a new approximately 23,025 square foot, two-story Jail Re-Entry facility adjacent to the existing Main County Jail in Placerville. The project will include site grading, utility extensions, and hardscape improvements.

Construction necessitates the installation of one two-inch turbo commercial meter for the building at an estimated cost of $184,580 per Utility Agreement 4397SP. Installation is typically completed within an eight-week time frame. EID guarantees all workmanship and materials furnished in the meter installation to be free from defects for a period of one year from the date of installation.

Facilities recommends that the Board authorize the Assistant Chief Administrative Officer to execute EID Utility Agreement 4397SP to allow for the installation of the new water meter.
