DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

The County has in the past appointed a Fair Ad Hoc Committee when negotiating changes to the agreement with the Fair Association or working collaboratively on issues that impact the County and the Fair Association.

 

On January 13, 2026, the Board approved the Fair Association Budget and disbanded the Fair Ad Hoc Committee with the intent to reform the Ad Hoc if property is acquired for additional parking, or if any other need arises throughout the year (Legistar file 26-0079).

 

Although property has not been acquired, staff are requesting that the Board appoint two members to the Fair Ad Hoc Committee to discuss potential property acquisitions and to discuss other issues as they arise.

 

ALTERNATIVES

The Board could choose to not recreate the Fair Ad Hoc Committee.
