DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
Senate Bill 707 updates key provisions of the Ralph M. Brown Act to reflect modern meeting practices and strengthen public transparency. Effective January 1, 2026, the legislation applies to advisory bodies such as Parks Commissions and includes expanded teleconferencing options, clarified requirements for public access, and reinforced protections for public participation and accessibility. The attached presentation summarizes these changes.
