1) Acknowledge the Transportation Division's receipt of two American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) awards for the 2013 ASCE Best Small Project of the Year for the Green Valley Road at Tennessee Creek-Bridge Replacement Project (CIP No. 77109) and for the 2013 ASCE Construction Project of the Year for the U.S.50/Missouri Flat Interchange Phase 1B Project (CIP No. 71336); and
2) Receive a brief presentation illustrating project outcomes. (Est. Time: 5 Min.)

The Community Development Agency, Transportation Division (Division) received the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Sacramento Section, 2013 Small Project of the Year award for the Green Valley Road at Tennessee Creek - Bridge Replacement Project. The Green Valley Road at Tennessee Creek - Bridge Replacement Project included the replacement of the bridge at Tennessee Creek, widening and alignment of Green Valley Road including a two way left turn lane, and a traffic signal at Green Valley Road and North Shingle Road, in the town of Rescue, California. With the completion of this project, a high accident area has been substantially improved. The pre-project site was known for numerous accidents. Since its completion a year and a half ago, there have been no accidents at this site. Some of the significant benefits from this project include:
· Replacement of the functionally obsolete bridge at Tennessee Creek
· Improved traffic flow due to the new traffic signal
· Improved multi-modal transportation operations with improved shoulders, designated crosswalks, refuges for pedestrians and a bus stop for children
· Widened traveled way for increased vehicular safety
The delivery of this project was a team effort that required continued cooperation between the Division, TRC Engineers, PG&E, AT&T, Comcast Communications and EID.
