REASON FOR RECOMMENDATION: At the request of Department of Transportation, the Procurement and Contracts Division issued Invitation to Bid #07-288-123 for the purchase of Plant Mix Asphalt Concrete. On June 5, 2007, item # 38, the Board of Supervisors awarded Bid # 07-288-123 to the low qualified bidder Teichert Aggregates in the amount of $828,059.00 for a twelve month term expiring on June 19,2008.
The Procurement and Contracts Division requested a twelve month extension, and Teichert Aggregates has agreed to the extension under the same terms and conditions of the original bid. Board of Supervisors Policy C-17 allows the Purchasing Agent the option of issuing a one year extension for competitively bid goods and services if agreed upon between the County and vendor. These extensions allow the County to take advantage of the prior year low bid pricing. The evaluation spreadsheet from the original bid is attached for your review.
FISCAL IMPACT/CHANGE TO NET COUNTY COST: Procurement and Contracts has been advised that funding is available within the Department of Transportation's budget. Non-General Fund - Road Fund Discretionary.
