Environmental Management Department recommending Chairman be authorized to sign Agreement No. 020-A-08/09-BOS (363-S0911) with Decade Software Company, LLC, in an amount not to exceed $114,510 for the term December 1, 2008 through November 30, 2011 to provide a specialized software product called "Envision and EnvisionConnect” for said Department, noting Article 15, Page 12 of the agreement is non-standard indemnity language and has been reviewed by County Counsel.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve.

Background:
Reason for Recommendation: This Agreement with Decade Software Company, LLC. will allow the Environmental Management Department to continue utilization of a proprietary software product called “Envision and Envision for Windows.” This product is endorsed by the California Environmental Health Administrators and is utilized by Environmental Health Departments throughout the State of California. “Envision and Envision for Windows” is a Department-wide, network-based, relational database for maintaining facility record information, issuing invoices, tracking payments, issuing permits, tracking billable staff hours, and generating operational data for mandated reporting purposes. Its continued use is critical to the EMD operations, revenue generation, and compliance with mandated reporting requirements.
