Body
DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION
The Sheriff’s Office recommends the signing and execution of the Reimbursement Agreement Amendment I in order to complete the disbursement of funds that were allocated to the City of Placerville by the Grant’s Approval Authority which oversees the administration of these funds for the prevention, response, and recovery from various terrorism/security incidents.
DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
The Approval Authority, established by the Board to administer the use of Homeland Security Grant funds, has approved the reimbursement of $40,000 to the City of Placerville from the Fiscal Year 2014 Homeland Security Grant for the purchase and installation of a video surveillance system. The Approval Authority consists of representatives from the City of Placerville, City of South Lake Tahoe, the Sheriff’s Office, Fire Districts, and other eligible governmental agencies.
On November 17, 2015 the Board approved Reimbursement Agreement 213-F1611 which gave the City of Placerville until January 31, 2016 to complete the purchase and installation of the equipment. Due to a delay in obtaining the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s approval of the Environmental Historic Preservation Screening Form, the project has been delayed and will not be completed by the original January 31, 2016 deadline. This form is a requirement of the grant, and must be approved prior to the start of the project.
