Background:
Policy B-2, adopted by the Board of Supervisors on February 7, 1989, provides the Chief Administrative Officer with the ability to waive certain development-related fees, permit charges, and administrative costs upon request of a feepayer.
Reason for Recommendation:
In its memo of March 23, 2006, the Grand Jury has asked the Chief Administrative Officer to amend Policy B-2 to include the following policy changes:
- All fee waiving recommendations must be approved first by the CAO under new policy guidelines.
- On the consent or open/discussion agenda, as a minimum, the parcel, the property owner's name or organization must be revealed.
- The dollar amounts to be waived must be on the agenda.
Prior to making changes to Board policy, the Chief Administrative Officer desires concurrent direction from the Board concerning the Grand Jury's recommendations.
Action to be taken following Board approval:
Policy B-2 will be amended and brought back to the Board for consideration at its December 12, 2006 meeting.
