Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: There is no Fiscal Impact associated with this agenda item. The Board will not be obligating the County with the current requested action. The obligation will come with the subsequent awarding of the bid. The Placerville Airport Crack Repair and Slurry Seal West Hangar and Apron Area, Remark Runway Blast Pads, and Construct Runway Exit Taxiway B Project (Project) has an estimated construction cost of $310, 791 and is funded by a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Grant with 5% matching funds from the Placerville Airport Enterprise Fund.

Reason for Recommendation:
The Plans and Contract Documents have been prepared for the Project. The Project serves to repair the west ramps C and D by filling in the asphalt cracks and resealing the asphalt. The Project would also provide an additional connector taxiway and remark taxiway lines and runway chevrons as required by the FAA.

In order to secure the FAA funds this Federal Fiscal Year, the bid summary and bid proposal of the apparent lowest, responsive, responsible bidder must be submitted to FAA for approval by the first week of August 2010.
