DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
On December 10, 2019, the Board of Supervisors adopted policy E-6 - Volunteer Policy. The Human Resources Department is recommending modifications to the Policy, an update to the policy revision date, and an extension of the sunset date. The policy is being updated for consistency with current policy formatting, as well as to address leadership input and liability concerns related to volunteers who are minors. It is noted that this policy shall not conflict with the El Dorado Sheriff's Office (EDSO) Volunteer Policy.
ALTERNATIVES
The Board may choose not to approve the recommended changes; direct staff to make additional modifications; or take no action.
