1) Authorize the Purchasing Agent to increase BP20130129 for a total amount of $154,922 for the 12 month term to expire on 09/13/2013 for the purchase of 3/8" x No. 6 Crushed Aggregate Chips to the low qualified bidder, Granite Construction Company, Inc. of Sacramento, CA; and
2) Authorize the Purchasing Agent to increase the blanket purchase order on an "as needed" basis during the awarded period as long as funding is available within the requesting department's budget.
FUNDING: Road Discretionary Fund.

Reason For Recommendation
At the request of the Community Development Agency, Department of Transportation Division, the Procurement and Contracts Division issued Invitation to Bid #13-288-009 for the purchase of 3/8" x No. 6 Crushed Aggregate Chips. On 09/11/2012, the Purchasing Agent awarded Bid #13-288-009 to the low qualified bidder Granite Construction Company, Inc. of Sacramento, CA. in the amount of $84,922.00 for a twelve month period expiring on 09/13/2013. The Community Development Agency, Department of Transportation Division has increased anticipated expenses of $70,000.00 for the remaining term of this bid to expire on 09/13/2013.
