REASON FOR RECOMMENDATION: At the request of the Department of Transportation, the Procurement and Contracts division issued an Invitation to Bid for Plant Mix Asphalt for the East Slope. The product will be used to maintain and repair County roads.

The bid was inclusive of two types of plant mix asphalt that may or may not be purchased during the awarded period; this will provide the department with secured pricing for the awarded twelve (12) month period. The bid items listed on the spreadsheet was evaluated with estimated quantities.

300 tons 3/8" A.C. $68.50/ton
1,750 tons 1/2" A.C. $65.00/ton

Three (3) Invitations to Bid were mailed, one (1) to a local vendor, only one (1) qualified response was received, and it was from a local vendor.

FISCAL IMPACT/CHANGE TO NET COUNTY COST: Procurement and Contracts has been advised that funding is available within the Department of Transportation's budget. (Road Fund Discretionary).

ACTION TO BE TAKEN FOLLOWING APPROVAL: Following Board approval, the Procurement and Contracts Division will issue a blanket purchase order in the amount of $120,000.00 to Tahoe Asphalt, Inc.
