These funds will provide supplemental funding for the SMUD Trail Project (Project).
Background:
The Project is to construct a multi-use class I bike path within the SMUD overhead power line easement from Silva Valley Parkway to El Dorado Hills Boulevard where it will connect to Stephan Harris Park. The Project will intersect the New York Creek Trail on the east side of the creek.
On June 30, 2011, the El Dorado Hills Community Services District Board of Directors adopted Resolution 2011-10 allocating $106,755 in Capital Improvement Project funds (EDHCIP) to El Dorado County Department of Transportation (Department) for the Project.
This project is anticipated to cost up to $690,000 for project delivery and construction. This project was initially funded with $295,000 in STIP-TE grant funds, $25,000 in Local AB2766 grant funds as well as $100,000 in Accumulated Capital Outlay (ACO) funding. When this project was transferred from El Dorado County Parks and Recreation Department to the Department of Transportation (Department) a preliminary design was produced and additional shortfalls in funding was discovered for construction of a small bridge required to cross New York Creek and the necessary additional environmental studies.
