Body

The contract increases annually at approximately 4%, excluding any one time wage adjustments, insurance costs, etc. The monthly cost for medical services alone (not pharmaceutical or HIV billbacks) are approximately $600,000 per month for an estimated total of $7.2 million. Given the portion of AB109 inmates and juvenile inmates the ask is only about 12% of the cost for Fiscal Year 2024/25 and even a smaller percentage for future years, if another increase is not requested.
