El Dorado County IT Department has a need to engage an outside entity to assess it's controls over IP addresses El Dorado County uses for Browser, e-mail, and remote services to prevent computer fraud and/or inappropriate access.

The MOU directs the County of Monterey Information Protection and Security Division to test these controls by attempting to access the network from the Internet, and report back to El Dorado County IT Department.

Reason for Recommendation:

This security check is necessary to test vulnerabilities of our El Dorado County Network.

Action to be taken following Board approval:

1. Chairperson to sign two copies of MOU with Monterey County
2. Board Clerk shall forward one original copy to IT
3. Procurement and Contracts shall create a purchase order to facilitate payment for this service.
4. Information Technologies shall forward the original copy of MOU to Monterey County, with letter to proceed.
