Background/Reason for Recommendation
This vehicle has been plagued with engine problems that cannot be repaired and is not usable by the Emergency Services Authority due to these issues.  The Board is asked to authorize an agreement for the donation of one ambulance chassis (Vin #1FDXF47R08ED23936), JPA tag number 128 to the El Dorado County Fire Protection District, while the patient box will be retained by the Emergency Services Authority and mounted on a new 2013 Dodge chassis.
 
Property determined to be surplus to the needs of various departments is offered to other County departments in accordance with Purchasing Ordinance 3.12.190 - Surplus Pool. The attached list of "surplus property" reflects those items that remain surplus to the needs of the County. The Purchasing Agent will dispose of said property in accordance with the Purchasing Ordinance as noted in Section 3.12.210 and Section 3.12.220 thereof by means of auction, direct sale or donation.The transfer of personal property to community organizations may be made in accordance with Government Code sections 25365 and 25372, and pursuant to a written agreement.  
 
Action to be taken following approval
Upon approval of the recommendation, the Purchasing Agent will process an agreement with the Fire Protection District for the donation of the chassis.
