DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
An open, competitive recruitment was held to fill the vacant position of Director of Library Services, yielding Bryce Lovell as the top candidate.
The recommendation is that Bryce Lovell be appointed to Step 2 of the salary range, as Director of Library Services, along with benefits and compensation per Section 5 of the Salary and Benefits Resolution for Unrepresented Employees.
ALTERNATIVES
If not approved, the Board will be required to consider other candidates or conduct another recruitment for the position of Director of Library Services.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
The position of Director of Library Services is budgeted for in current fiscal year and currently being filled with an interim appointment that will end when Bryce Lovell’s appointment begins. As a result, there is not an increased cost to the County as a result of this item.
