DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
The California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and County CEQA Resolution 61-87 allow the County to hire consultants, funded by project applicants/developers, to prepare complex and comprehensive CEQA documents such as Environmental Impact Reports.

On September 27. 2022 (Legistar file 22-1327), the Board approved Agreement 6834 with Michael Baker International, Inc. to assist Department with as-needed land use planning and environmental reviews for various development projects, with a not-to-exceed amount of $500,000, and a term of three (3) years.

On August 22, 2023, the County’s Purchasing Agent approved Amendment I to Agreement 6834 amending Article XVI, Notice to Parties; and adding Exhibit C, California Levine Act Statement with no changes to not-to-exceed amount or term of agreement.

MBI continues to assist the Planning and Building Department (Department) with processing several development projects, including Village of Marble Valley Specific Plan, Lime Rock Valley Specific Plan and Creekside Plaza projects.
