Title: Transportation Department recommending Chairman be authorized to sign Agreement for Services AGMT 08-52558 with Holdrege & Kull, Consulting Engineers and Geologists and Agreement for Services AGMT 08-52559 with Kleinfelder West, Inc., each in an amount not to exceed $200,000 for a three-year term or upon the completion of all issued task orders, whichever is later, to provide professional geotechnical and geological engineering support services, including materials testing and environmental geotechnics, during the 2009, 2010 and 2011 construction seasons. Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:
The Transportation Department (Department) included $75,000 for each Agreement in its Fiscal Year (FY) 2009/2010 budget and anticipates budgeting the remaining amounts in subsequent Fiscal Years. The final cost is recovered through restricted sources that fund the Department's Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects, including the Traffic Impact Mitigation Fee Program, the Regional Surface Transportation Program, the Highway Bridge Program and federal aid funds, and by developer impact fees. There is no Net County Cost.

Background:
The Procurement and Contracts Division conducted a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) process for the Department in 2007. The Department utilized this RFQ process, which included a review of each vendor's qualifications by an outside reviewer.
