DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
On March 17, 2022, the Purchasing Agent signed Agreement 6336 with Judy Knapp Consulting/PreventionWORKS in the amount of $70,000 for parenting classes for the Sheriff’s Jail inmates.
Since that time, the demand for these classes in the jails has grown so quickly that the contract compensation has almost completely been expended. Since the increase exceeds the Purchasing Agent’s signature threshold, this request is being brought to your Board for approval.
ALTERNATIVES
The Board could choose not to approve this Amendment, however, the Jails would be unable to provide additional parenting classes to inmates.
