Human Resources Department is proposing the following four categories of Extra Help employment: 1) Emergency Appointment - limit of 30 days; 2) Temporary Appointment - used for short-term projects, longer-term sick relief, short internships and similar employment; 3) Recurrent Appointment- seasonal or occasional work that recurs annually; and 4) Limited Term Appointment- can exceed six months but is a limited term for the duration of the work to be accomplished with an outside separation date. Human Resources Department seeking Board approval and will provide language changes to all affected policies/regulations/ordinances with County Counsel's review and the Boards approval.
