Transportation recommending the Board adopt Resolution 043-2013 sanctioning the closure of roads in the Cameron Park area on Saturday, May 4, 2013, between 7:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., for Blue Oak Elementary's Fifth Annual "Bulldog Biathlon," subject to the conditions set forth in Resolution No. 110-79 dated May 1, 1979, and the Application for Road Closure.

The requested Board action has no associated fiscal impact or net County cost.
Background:
The Blue Oak Elementary "Bulldog Biathlon", sponsored by the Blue Oak Elementary Parent-Teacher's Association (PTA), is a running/cycling event, with approximately 100 children from Kindergarten through 5th Grade participating.
Requested road closure between 7:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.:
- Merrychase Drive from Country Club Drive to the southern entrance
of Blue Oak Elementary School.
Additionally, barricades will be in effect at the intersections of:
- Merrychase Drive and Country Club Drive
- Merrychase Drive and Casa Largo Way
- Merrychase Drive at the southern entrance to Blue Oak
Elementary School
Reason for Recommendation:
Transportation is recommending Board approval of the road closures to provide for the safety of participants, volunteers and spectators along the course, and to assist in the success of this community event. Other involved agencies have made no objection to this closure.
Action to be taken following Board approval:
1) The Clerk of the Board to obtain the Chair's signature on the Resolution.
2) The Clerk of the Board to send an executed copy of the Resolution to
Transportation.
3) The roads listed in the Resolution will be closed on Saturday, May 4, 2013
between 7:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., for the Fifth Annual "Bulldog Biathlon"
Event.
