There is no County share of cost or match requirement associated with the Marshall Foundation Grant. All anticipated costs will be fully covered by the $2,520 grant.

Reason for Recommendation:
The Department of Human Services (DHS) became aware of the Marshall Medical Foundation for Community Health funding opportunity subsequent to the agenda deadline to obtain Board of Supervisors' approval of the application prior to the grant submittal deadline of November 10, 2008. The application was submitted to seek funding for free day care services to caregivers who do not have or cannot afford care and supervision for loved ones while attending caregiver support groups or educational workshops, DHS

Since the grant required no County match, and rather than miss out on the opportunity to obtain funding, DHS submitted the application without Board ratification of the Department Director’s signature on the application.
