Body

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

Originally adopted on January 12, 2021, with Legistar file 21-0020, Policy E-13 COVID-19 Prevention Policy is no longer necessary. The policy was originally adopted to provide employees with a healthy and safe workplace as required under the California Occupational Safety and Health Act, also referred to as Cal/OSHA, (Labor Code §§ 6300, et seq.) and associated regulations (8 C.C.R. § 3205).

These Covid-19 regulations applied until February 3, 2025, with reporting and record-keeping requirements continuing through February 3, 2026. The County opted to continue Policy E-13 until all requirements were exhausted. As these dates have now passed, Human Resources Department recommends the Board repeal Board Policy E-13, COVID-19 Prevention Policy.
