DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
On December 12, 2023, AQMD presented the results of a request for proposals (RFP) for potential AB2766 funding eligible projects for calendar years 2024 and 2025 and the Board approved six (6) projects, including one project to fund a shuttle service at the 2024 and 2025 Cameron Park Community Services District's (CPCSD) Summer Spectacular event (Event).

The approved project was awarded a grant of AB2766 funding in the amount of $2,975 based on the original proposal from CPCSD, and was ranked as the project with the 3rd best cost effectiveness (of 6 approved projects). CPCSD committed to providing a project match of $595. The original proposal was for CPCSD to contract with Buckeye Union School District to provide buses to use as shuttles for the 2024 and 2025 Event, as they had done in the past. In early June 2024, CPCSD staff found out that the school district was unable to provide the buses as originally proposed, and due to the late notice, CPCSD and AQMD were unable to modify the funding agreement in time for the 2024 Event.

Under new management, CPCSD recently approached AQMD about the possiblity of still funding the 2025 Event's shuttle service. CPCSD submitted a new proposal which included a requested grant amount of $2,633, with a match of $585 provided by CPCSD.
