Procurement and Contracts, a division of the Chief Administrative Office, on behalf of the Department of Transportation, recommending the Board:
1) Award Bid 24-0075 for the purchase of equipment/truck tires, tubes, wheels and related products and services to the sole qualified bidder, Sierra Nevada Tire and Wheel of Placerville, CA;
2) Authorize the Purchasing Agent to issue a purchase contract in the amount of $600,000, equating to $200,000 a year over a thirty-six month term, following Board approval; and
3) Authorize the Purchasing Agent to increase the purchase contract on an "as-needed" basis during the awarded period as long as funding is available within the requesting department's budget.

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
At the request of the Department of Transportation, Procurement and Contracts, a division of the Chief Administrative Office, issued an invitation to bid for the purchase of equipment/truck tires, tubes, wheels and related products and services for the East and West Slopes of El Dorado County.
The invitation to bid was published on the County's eProcurement system, PlanetBids. Nine vendor notification emails were sent to vendors registered on PlanetBids under the tire and tubes commodity. One qualified response was received from Sierra Nevada Tire and Wheel of Placerville, CA, a local vendor.
ALTERNATIVES
The board could choose not to award the bid and issue a contract, but the purchase of tires, tubes, wheels and related products and services is required for the maintenance of County vehicles and equipment.
