DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
During this current school year, COVID limited in-person interaction of the Commission but the students were motivated and resourceful and kept their projects moving forward in the face of that restraint.
Although Supervisor Thomas was just appointed as the Liaison to the Youth Commission on January 5th of this year, the one meeting that she attended evidenced both the effectiveness and the importance of this Commission. The dedication these students show in creating a voice for the youth of our community is awe-inspiring as is the development of leadership skills within the Commissioners themselves. It is a privilege to provide this venue to the Youth Commissioners to update the Board and our Community on their progress.
