DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
The Planning and Building Department (“Department”), Long Range Planning Division, includes the Affordable Housing Unit (“Unit”). The Unit’s mission is to administer and expand grant-funded programs provided by California Department of Housing and Community Development (“HCD”) that provide an overall economic benefit to the County through support for a variety of housing loan programs, specifically for low to moderate-income housing. The program is directed by the policy and objectives of the Board and the Housing Element of the County General Plan. The Unit is responsible for implementing and managing related housing loans and income restricted development projects to meet those objectives in addition to reporting progress to the Board, State, and local agencies.
This presentation summarizes the Planning and Building Department’s Affordable Housing Program (Attachment A) and the County of El Dorado - Housing Unit Assessment: August 2024 (Attachment B).
