Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: None. All costs are offset with State of California Boating and Waterways Grant funds.
Background:
On an annual basis teh Sheriff's Office leases a slip in the Tahoe Keys Marina for the boat that is used to conduct law enforcement operations during the annual boating season on Lake Tahoe.
Reason for Recommendation:
Approval of this recommendation will allow the Sheriff's Office to maintain a boat on the water in Lake Tahoe that will be used for law enforcement operations. If this recommendation is not approved, the Sheriff's Office will be required to remvoe the boat from the water on a daily basis, increasing staff time and resulting in fewer hours of actual boat patrol services.
Action to be taken following Board approval:
The Sheriff will sign the agreement and a copy will be delivered to the Tahoe Keys and Marina Yacht Club so that payment can be made prior to the beginning of the boating season.
