DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
Objective 10.1.1 of the Economic Development Element of the County’s General Plan directs that the Economic Development Providers Network or other Board of Supervisors recognized economic development organization advise and recommend to the Board of Supervisors policies and a course of action that will facilitate the County’s economic vitality.
On May 9, 2006 the Board of Supervisors created the Economic Development Advisory Commission, now called the Community & Economic Development Advisory Committee, or CEDAC, to assist with the implementation of this Objective.
Program 10.1.1.1.1, under Objective 10.1.1, specifically directs that an Annual Report and Action Plan be prepared.
ALTERNATIVES
The Board could choose to deny or modify the proposed Action Plan.
PRIOR BOARD ACTION
In 2017 (17-1196) and 2018 (18-1068) the Board received an update on CEDAC's annual Action Plan and approved the Action Plan. On October 30th, of 2018 the Board received a presentation on Community Choice Aggregation (18-1631) from CEDAC.
