Clerk of the Board of Supervisors recommending the Board:
1) approve registration and travel expenses, totaling approximately $1,105, for the Board Chair to attend the California State Association of Counties (CSAC) annual conference November 15-19, 2010; and
2) ratify expenditures, totaling $398.20, for the Board-appointed representative's attendance at the Regional Council of Rural Counties (RCRC) annual conference, held September 22-24, 2010 .

Per Board Policy D-5 provides for "Registration and travel expenses for conferences and meetings as approved by the Board" to be included in the Clerk of the Board's budget. A total of $2,600 was included in the Clerk's budget for attendance at these two conferences.
The Respresentative for RCRC is Ray Nutting and the RCRC 2010 Annual Conference was held on September 22-24, 2010 at the Marriott Napa Valley Hotel, Napa County. The Clerk budgeted $1,000 for the conference and the charges incurred were $250.00 for registration and $148.00 for hotel which totaled $398.20.
The Representative for CSAC is Norma Santiago and the CSAC Annual Conference is scheduled for November 15-19, 2010 in Riverside County. The Clerk budgeted $1,600 for the conference and the charges are projected at $435 for registration, $450 for airfare, and $220 for hotel ($440 if room is not shared.) for a total of $1,105.
